Senior Software Engineer - C# .NET

Your role and responsibilities:

You will concentrate on developing and maintaining projects within the Cards team. To succeed, it is essential to operate effectively within an agile project environment and adapt to various working methods. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and testing applications based on business requirements and industry best practices.
• Producing secure, high-quality production code, and reviewing and debugging code written by others.
• Providing technical and engineering support for new and existing applications.
• Creating necessary technical documentation.
• Conducting unit and integration testing to ensure functionality and performance limits are met.

The team:

The Cards team is part of the Payments Solutions Domain of Knab. The cards team is responsible for all card transaction processing, card life cycle management and tokenization (Apple Pay & Google Pay). This is done by developing our own solutions & connecting them with third party systems outside of Knab, and with other domains within Knab. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team where you work together with a Product Owner, Business Analysts, Customer Journey Experts, other engineers, testers and a DevOps engineer. You will report to the IT Chapter lead.

Your profile:

• A good background in C# and .NET Core (a minimum of 7 years of experience);
• Experienced in event streaming and cloud platforms, preferably AWS, specifically in serverless architecture and containers;
• You are a very good communicator, have a structured way of working, ask questions, challenge other developers and principals and provide suggestions to your peers;
• Team player able to lead when needed;
• Experience using Terraform to create and maintain the infrastructure (IaC);
• Knowing your way around containers and container orchestration, and a microservices based distributed architecture:
  • Storage technologies (SQL, S3, NoSQL);
• System Manager, KMS, CloudWatch, Monitoring;
• Networking principles such as load balancing, DNS, Reverse Proxy;
• Software Development patterns like: Domain Driven Design and Test Driven Design;
• You are living in the Netherlands.

Nice to have: 

• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems

 Tech Stack: 

• Backend: .NET Core, C#, relational (Postgress) and nosql (DynamoDB) databases, in-memory and distributed caching, event driven architecture, serverless functions;
• CI/CD: AzureDevOps and Docker, Terraform, Fargate;
• Testing: Unit tests and acceptance tests are covered with xUnit, SpecFlow.
